Our story
Far from family, on our first pregnancy.
My wife Neha and I live in Gurgaon. My mother lives in one city, Neha’s mother in another, and neither is close by.
When Neha was pregnant with our first baby, the questions came every week. Is this normal? Can she eat this? Should we call the doctor, or wait? In most Indian homes, a Nani or Dadi would have answered over a cup of chai. We had phone calls whenever someone was free, and search results that worried us more than they helped.
When our daughter arrived, it all began again: feeds, sleep, crying in the middle of the night, and a hundred small decisions about her care. We managed, but we kept thinking about all the parents going through the same thing without family close by.
So we started building Ask Nani: the patience and experience of a grandmother, with the knowledge of modern medicine. There at any hour, in English, Hindi or Hinglish, and always alongside your doctor.
